We actively and intentionally engage people with diverse perspectives and experiences to ensure that ALL voices are heard in addressing the pressing needs of today and building a collective preferred vision for tomorrow. Demographic data are collected from participants and compared to publicly available data for the region to ensure the sample population accurately represents our community.

Passions
In this exercise we asked participants what they are positive or passionate about. Diverse participants have many different passions, but there are common themes.

Visions
In this exercise we had participants draw in a group and then individually write and speak their vision of a preferred future for our region. These themes are summaries of what was said.

Group 1 Visions
Sharing food with the hungry and needy. |
A perfect community-A welcoming community. Everyone is included- Races, religion, all ages and all abilities. No one is left out of anything all races, religion included. One big community. |
I would like to see all people to accept all others as equal. Never look down on someone unless you are bending down to help them. Places for all to eat, shop, live and work together and helping each other as needed. All people! |
I want huge no kill animal shelters to eliminate euthanasia of healthy animals. Buildings for homeless. Also homeless shelters where people can bring their pets. |
Partnerships between business, organizations, people. Soup distribution station at church sponsored by Ameriqual. Resource events, distributions, classes, drives. |
Place where everyone is loved and appreciated. Circle of D.E.I -Unity. Rainbow Eye/Tears swiped away-Non-binary community accepted and appreciated. |
Group 2 Visions
Public green space, Mental Health, drug addiction, more diversity, give without expecting anything in return, events-collaboration. |
Fun, to be heard, safe. All are included, children are connected with people and nature. Teens are finding joy in spending time with the elderly and people and learn from them. Community meals are frequent, all are welcomed. Those that are able. All voices heard. |
Green Space in every neighborhood, trails, stages for music/arts/presentations, flowers, a community garden, murals by local artists. |
Get more people into the church. Community pride |

Group 3 Visions
Various churches sharing spaces for worship and celebration. As many people as possible sharing talents with the church and community. |
Incorporate music, awareness, serving more/larger are/bigger kitchen. Family needs on lower level, include other churches and groups to participate in our missions. |
Inclusivity for different ethnic groups in our church, bring a friend to church incentive program, family needs clothing ministry, more easily accessible volunteers/for family needs. |
Volunteering, Spread word about Fresh Air, Go out to eat like we used to in the evening. |
Faith community-each church have a garden to feed the hungry. |
Group 4 Visions
All ages, races working and playing together and assisting these in need. Good relations with police and firemen. Treating hungry and needy people with compassion. |
An open are green space inner city. All inclusive with state of the art community center. Activities for kids disabled and marginalized, including the elderly. Opportunity for all to have somewhere to go and way to get there for community involvement. |
Family parks with playground equipment and flowers, plants, trees, benches suitable for sitting and visiting for all ages. Book boxes or small libraries-leave one/take one for all ages. Add opportunities for music activities that are diverse. |
Education center with senior living communities/animal shelters. Neighborhood community centers with green space. To combat loneliness and isolation. |
