We actively and intentionally engage people with diverse perspectives and experiences to ensure that ALL voices are heard in addressing the pressing needs of today and building a collective preferred vision for tomorrow. Demographic data are collected from participants and compared to publicly available data for the region to ensure the sample population accurately represents our community.

In this exercise we asked participants what they are positive or passionate about. Diverse participants have many different passions, but there are common themes.

Visions

In this exercise we had participants draw in a group and then individually write and speak their vision of a preferred future for our region. These themes are summaries of what was said.

Group 1 Visions

    • Better Education
    • More leadership activities to include everyone but all grades included, better school food, more diversity
    • Better education, no matter what age, a person is heard, more recycling, healthcare is cheaper, more diversity
    • The overpass complete with all the students feeling safe to walk to school. More acknowledgement of others in the school, not just athletes. Free dress code, more after school activities and programs. Activities that are not a sport, maybe a club where you meet and talk about life. Better speech interpreters or more that help foreign students.

    Group 2 Visions

    • More resources for homeless and non-wealthy people, free healthcare, more school security
    • In 15 years I see Bosse being a more bright, positive, uplifting school with less drama and more positive people attending. more clubs and programs for students.

    Group 3 Visions

      • Students are learning in a fun and engaging way. New Programs have been created /introduced to Bosse students.Students are excited to get to class. Hallways aren’t crowded, traveling through the halls is much easier. No dress code. better school food.
      • In 15-20 years I see Bosse improving in things like academics, and sports, community service and clubs. The students will be dedicated to improving their lives and others through academics. We will be a school known for its united community. The environment will be welcoming to all students by having more diverse classes for many different careers. The teachers will strive to get students to meet their goals. The school will be better equipped in having a good facility
      • I want Bosse to look clean, nice and the outside will look well put together. It will be more learned but they will make it fun. Bosse will let the students find themselves. Communication will be more better than 15-20 years ago. Communication is the key so I hope they make it better than the last. Better food.
      • More peaceful, more activity size, education programs, better road ways
      • I would more nice people that are always down to help them islanders people that don’t really speak or understand english.

      • Better Roads, better property, Cleaner environment, Clean water, more college help, later school start time, cheap groceries

      • Clean water/river, Improve roads, Community connections, better energy/clean energy, drug free, cheaper groceries, Satellite programs, college help, better lunch

      • No discrimination, better energy, later school time, college help, better food, no hallway sweeps,no blue pass, clean water, better community, cheap groceries, clean community

      • Hopefully AI takes over, better climate, Teaching about real life, like finances and how to gain credit, just things we we’re going to use in 15-20 years

      • I hope in 15-20 years, people are making enough money to provide for themselves/family and still have time to have a life outside of their career, healthcare is free, and more resources like cheaper groceries are available
