We actively and intentionally engage people with diverse perspectives and experiences to ensure that ALL voices are heard in addressing the pressing needs of today and building a collective preferred vision for tomorrow. Demographic data are collected from participants and compared to publicly available data for the region to ensure the sample population accurately represents our community.

Passions

In this exercise we asked participants what they are positive or passionate about. Diverse participants have many different passions, but there are common themes.

Visions

In this exercise we had participants draw in a group and then individually write and speak their vision of a preferred future for our region. These themes are summaries of what was said.

Group 1 Visions

    • Diversity with new paths, environment, only more for all people.
    • More money, more staff, better environment.
    • A community more together and helpful with each other, avoiding hateful and racism.
    • My vision is new sports facilities for Bosse, since Bosse doesn’t have a pool or soccer field on campus some athletes miss practice often. 
    • Counselors to be trustworthy, freshed paint, that way Bosse doesn’t seem gloomy, a pool and just better role models.
    • Better community
    • Free gaming/sports space lunch option.

    Group 2 Visions

    • Our vision was for Evansville to have more of a clean environment. 
    • A more beautiful scenery with well taken care of areas.
    • Welcoming the people to Evansville.
    • Vision of a city’s society and what it looks like and how you want it to be. 

    Group 3 Visions

      • It is inspired by the future and cultures.
      • Our school is bully free, no discrimination, we spread positivity throughout the school and neighborhood. The school looks presentable, welcoming, and we have a lot of students wanting to come to the school.
      • School is bully free, no discrimination and very positive, the outside of the school looks welcoming and has students wanting to come to school. 
      • Cultured school, welcoming.
      • A happy and better welcoming school.

      Group 4 Visions

      • It would be good to leave racism and live together like everyone else, a family regardless the color and nationality.
      • It would be good to have more different diversity in school.
      • I will say that it would be good to have a more diversity in school.
      • Our vision is for bilingual kids to in the future will they and Bosse will become even more diverse in language, ethnicity and culture.
      • More renewable resources, more diversity, more community, cleaner environment.
      • We would want the community to provide more diversity and provide opportunities for all people around the world.
